Sublimation lanyards carry a full-colour design dyed straight into the polyester strap, so sponsor logos, gradients and patterns run edge to edge with nothing sitting on the surface to crack or peel. They are the standard choice for conferences with several partner logos and for brands with colourful identities, printed in Riyadh and delivered across Saudi Arabia.
A large conference rarely has one logo to show. There is the event mark, the headline sponsor, three partners and a hashtag, and the agency wants all of them on a narrow strap. Sublimation is the method that makes this practical, because the number of colours does not change the setup. One design file, however complex, becomes one print.
The process heats dye until it turns to gas and bonds with the polyester fibres, so colour becomes part of the fabric rather than a coating on it. The strap feels soft, the design survives twisting and daily rubbing against clothing, and you can run different artwork along the length or on each face.
The one condition is the base. Dye needs a white or light strap to show its colours, so a black lanyard is produced by printing black as part of the design rather than starting with black fabric. That works well in practice, but for a single-colour logo on a dark strap silk screen will usually be the cheaper route, and for very fine detail on dark colours DTF is worth comparing. Send the artwork and our Riyadh team will advise free of charge. Standard orders typically take 2 to 5 business days plus delivery.

What artwork gets the most from sublimation?
Designs that use the whole strap: repeating logos, colour fades, brand patterns or a run of sponsor logos. A small logo on a plain strap wastes the method. Because colour reaches the edges, keep text slightly away from the sides, where a strap can curl. Very thin white lines can fill in as dye spreads a little in the weave, so make fine detail a touch heavier than it looks on screen.
Why might my colours look different from the screen?
Screens glow, and fabric absorbs. Dyed polyester also tends to look a little softer than coated paper, especially with deep reds and very dark tones. If an exact brand shade matters, send a colour reference and ask to see a sample before the full run. Black also benefits from a sample, because a rich dyed black depends on heat, fabric and the colours mixed to build it.
How do I keep the colours looking fresh?
Avoid long hours in strong sun, such as a lanyard left on a car dashboard, since sunlight slowly softens dye. Everyday indoor wear has very little effect. Hand wash in cool water with mild soap if a strap gets dirty, and let it air dry away from direct sun. Avoid hot ironing and tumble drying, because high heat can move the dye and shrink the strap.

Sublimation Lanyards: common questions
Quick answers about our services, timing, artwork and delivery. Have another question? Call or WhatsApp us.
It will not peel, because the dye bonds with the fibres instead of sitting on the surface. Colours stay stable under normal indoor wear, though long sun exposure can soften them over time.
Can I sublimate on a black lanyard?
Not directly, because the dye needs a white or light base. We print black as part of your design, so the finished strap still looks black.
Is sublimation better than silk screen for lanyards?
It is better for many colours and photos, while silk screen often suits simple logos in one to three solid colours. We can compare both for your artwork.
Can I list many sponsor logos on one strap?
Yes, it is a common use, since extra colours add no extra screens. Leave enough length between logos so each one is still visible when worn.
Can you match my brand colour exactly?
We get as close as the fabric allows, but dye on polyester can differ slightly from print on paper. Ask for a sample if the shade is critical.
Can I wash a sublimation lanyard?
Yes, a gentle hand wash in cool water is fine because the colour is inside the fibres. Keep metal fittings dry where you can, and air dry the strap.
