CNC cutting routes acrylic, wood, ACP and foam board into letters, logos, display pieces and exhibition props from a digital file. Exhibition Printing Riyadh runs its own CNC router in Riyadh for stand builders, retail fit-out teams and event agencies that need clean, repeatable shapes, with delivery across Saudi Arabia.
A CNC router follows a vector path with a spinning cutter, so every letter, curve and hole comes out exactly as drawn, and the hundredth piece matches the first. That precision is what makes dimensional logos, reception letters and exhibition props look built rather than improvised. It also handles thicker and larger sheets than a laser can, which is why we use it for stand structures, counters and big display pieces.
The usual materials are acrylic in clear, coloured and opal finishes, MDF and plywood for painted or veneered pieces, aluminium composite panel for signs and cladding, and foam board for lightweight props and temporary event scenery. Thickness is chosen by the job: thin sheets for applied letters, thicker ones for free-standing shapes. Edges come off the machine cleanly and can be sanded, painted, laminated or polished as the finish requires.
CNC cutting pairs naturally with our other services. Cut letters can be UV printed or laser engraved, backlit with LED, and installed by our signage team. Send a vector file, tell us the material and thickness, and we will advise on cutter radius for tight inside corners, nesting to reduce waste, and whether a part should be cut in sections for transport. Standard turnaround is 2 to 5 business days plus delivery.

How is CNC cutting done?
Your vector file is converted into a toolpath that tells the router where to move, how deep to cut and which bit to use. The sheet is clamped or vacuum-held on the bed, and a spinning cutter follows the path in one or more passes depending on thickness. Letters and shapes are left attached by small tabs so they do not shift, then released and the tabs sanded off. Finishing, such as polishing acrylic edges, painting MDF or laminating, happens afterwards.
How do I choose material and thickness?
Start with where the piece will live. Reception letters that are lit from behind call for opal or coloured acrylic. Painted or veneered MDF suits indoor exhibition props and plinths that will be seen up close. ACP is light and weatherproof, so it works for outdoor signs and fascia letters. Foam board is the choice for lightweight event scenery that will be used once. Thinner sheets are enough for applied letters; free-standing shapes need thicker material and sometimes a backing frame.
How long do CNC-cut pieces last?
Acrylic and ACP are stable indoors for years and tolerate covered outdoor use; keep acrylic out of relentless direct sun to limit yellowing. MDF must stay dry, so it is an indoor material unless fully sealed. Foam board is for short-term use. Clean acrylic with a soft cloth and mild soap, never solvents. For installed letters, our signage team can advise on fixings and later maintenance, and spare pieces can be cut from the same file at any time.

What affects the price of CNC Cutting
01
Material and thicknessAcrylic and ACP cost more per sheet than foam board, and thicker stock needs more passes.
02
Complexity of the shapeMany small parts, fine lettering and tight corners take longer on the machine than simple outlines.
03
FinishingPolished edges, painting, lamination and LED fitting are separate labour steps.
04
Size, delivery and installationLarge pieces may need crating and a team on site, which depends on your location.
What to send us
Vector file in DXF, AI or PDF at 1:1 scale, with all text converted to outlines
Cut lines as closed paths on one layer; engraving or pocketing areas on a separate layer
Material, colour and thickness for each part, plus the final size of the assembled piece
Note any inside corners that must stay sharp so we can plan the cutter and relief cuts

CNC Cutting: common questions
Quick answers about our services, timing, artwork and delivery. Have another question? Call or WhatsApp us.
When should I choose CNC cutting instead of laser cutting?
Choose CNC for thick sheets, large panels, ACP, plywood and foam board. Laser is better for thin acrylic, fine detail and paper.
Will sharp inside corners be perfectly square?
A router bit is round, so inside corners carry a small radius. We can use a smaller cutter or add relief cuts where a square corner matters.
Can you also paint or print the cut pieces?
Yes. Pieces can be painted, UV printed, laser engraved or fitted with LED lighting, and our signage team can install the finished item.
How large a piece can you cut in one go?
Standard sheet sizes are cut in one piece; anything larger is cut in sections designed to join invisibly. Tell us the final size and we will plan the split.
Can CNC letters be made with LED backlighting?
Yes. We cut the face and return, fit LED modules and wiring, and finish the piece ready for installation. Opal acrylic faces give the most even glow.
Do you install the finished pieces?
Yes, our signage team installs letters, logos and display pieces. Installation is quoted separately because it depends on the site, height and location.
