Promotional Pens

In short

Promotional pens are plastic or metal pens branded with your logo by pad print, UV print or laser engraving. Exhibition Printing Riyadh produces them at its Riyadh factory for conference organisers, exhibitors, hotels and offices that need a low-cost giveaway in large numbers, with free artwork setup and delivery across Saudi Arabia.

  • Standard orders in 2-5 business days

A pen is usually the first thing a visitor picks up from an exhibition counter and the last thing they throw away. It costs little, travels home in a pocket and gets used at a desk where colleagues see it. For registration tables, hotel rooms and conference packs, pens remain the simplest way to leave a logo behind.

The choice is mainly between plastic and metal. Plastic click or twist pens are the volume option and are branded by pad printing, which prints one or more spot colours on the barrel or clip. UV printing adds full-colour logos and small text to flat or gently curved barrels. Metal pens suit laser engraving, which cuts a permanent mark into the coating and reads as a silver line on a dark pen. Engraved metal pens are the usual choice for hotel suites, senior delegates and gift sets.

Print area is small, often a strip a few centimetres long, so a logo with fine detail or a long tagline may need simplifying. We will check the artwork against the pen model you choose and send a digital proof. Writing colour, barrel colour and clip style can all be matched to your brand. Standard orders take 2 to 5 business days plus delivery anywhere in the Kingdom.

How is a logo applied to a pen?

For plastic pens, pad printing picks up ink from an etched plate with a silicone pad and presses it onto the curved barrel, one colour at a time. UV printing jets ink onto the barrel and cures it instantly with ultraviolet light, which allows full colour and small text. On metal pens, a laser removes the coloured coating along the artwork path and exposes the metal beneath, so the mark is permanent. In every case the logo is positioned on a jig so each pen comes out identical.

How do I choose the right pen?

Decide first who gets it. Delegates at a trade show or guests in a hotel room get a plastic click pen with a pad printed logo: inexpensive, reliable and easy to order in thousands. Clients and speakers get a metal twist pen with an engraved logo, often in a box. Then check the writing feel, because a pen that skips gets thrown away whatever the logo looks like. Ask for a sample of the model before confirming a large run, and match the barrel colour to your brand rather than printing over a clashing colour.

How long does the branding last?

Laser engraving on metal lasts the life of the pen. Pad and UV prints are durable in normal use, but a print on the grip area, where fingers rub constantly, will wear faster than one on the upper barrel or clip. We place logos away from the grip for that reason. Keep pens out of direct sunlight in displays, and if they will sit unused for months, choose a refill known to keep well. Ink cartridges can usually be replaced on metal models.

All FAQs
What is the difference between pad printing and UV printing on pens?

Pad printing applies solid spot colours and is the economical choice for simple logos in quantity. UV printing reproduces full colour and finer detail but on a more limited area.

Can you engrave names on individual pens?

Yes, laser engraving on metal pens can carry individual names or titles. Send a clean list and allow a little more production time than a single-logo run.

How much text fits on a pen?

Usually a logo and a short line such as a website or phone number. Long slogans become unreadable, so we suggest keeping the message to one line.

Do you print pens in blue and black ink?

Both are available on most models, and some pens can be supplied in other ink colours. Tell us which you prefer when you order.

Can a QR code be printed on a pen?

Yes, with UV printing on a suitable barrel. Keep the code simple and at least 10 mm square so phones can scan it, and test the proof before the full run.

Can I see a sample before ordering thousands of pens?

Yes, we recommend it. We can supply a blank sample of the model and a digital proof, and a printed pre-production sample on request.

Can you print in Arabic and English on the same pen?

Yes. The usual layout is one language on each side of the barrel, or both on one side if the text is short. We check legibility at actual size on the proof.
